Canoe, Kayak and Stand Up Paddleboard the St. Joseph River

  • Fri-Sun and Holidays, May 22-October 4
    Closed Mon-Thurs (except holidays)
  • St. Patrick’s County Park: Brown Barn
  • 11am to 4pm
    (Long trip rental ends at 2pm); Vessels must be returned no later than 7pm.
  • 1-person kayak: $20 short trip and $27 long trip
    Stand Up Paddleboards: $25 short trip only (not available on Fridays)
    Canoe short trip: $25 up to 4 hours
    Canoe long trip: $32 up to 5 hours (not available on Fridays)
    Plus gate fee

Get your family and friends together and canoe the beautiful St. Joseph River! Also a great idea for clubs, businesses and groups of all ages! Packages include shuttle service, canoes, paddles and required life jackets. Parental signature required for renters under the age of 18. Not recommended for children 3 years of age or younger. Limited kayak and SUP rentals available. Need five or more canoes? No problem, call ahead to reserve a caravan of canoes at least ten days prior to your trip. Have your own vessel? We provide shuttle service for $7 during shuttle operations. Beginners and families may also use our pond for practice and fun for $7/hour


NEW

Evening Canoe Paddle

  • Every Thursday June-August
  • Departure times: 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 pm
  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure time to fill out necessary paperwork.
  • Fee: $15/canoe, 2 hour limit.

Experience the St. Joseph River in the evening for a leisurely 4.5 mile paddle. Canoes are limited and not recommended for children 3 years and under. Fee includes shuttle, canoe, paddles and required life jackets. All canoes must be off the water by 10 pm.


Beginner Canoe and Kayak Lessons

  • When: Saturday, June 7, Sunday, July 26 and Saturday, August 22
  • Site: St. Patrick’s County Park: Brown Barn
  • Time: 9am to 12:30pm
  • Fee: $15/person per session

Join certified instructor Ted Beatty for a basic canoe/kayak lesson including safety, paddling strokes, loading/unloading and transporting a canoe/kayak. Fee includes gate fee and use of canoe/kayak, paddle and life jacket. Registration and payment are required three days before program date.


Disc Golf

  • Open daily

    Pro Shop hours vary
  • Daily pass: $4/adult; $3/youth (15 and under)
    Annual pass: $30/adult; $20/youth (15 and under)
  • Annual gate/disc golf combo pass: $50

Come to the Ferrettie/Baugo Creek County Park Disc Golf Course for a FREE disc golf lesson! Open to anyone who is just curious about the sport, and to beginners who want tips to improve their game. Receive one-on-one instruction and guided play on the course. Discs provided.


Free Fishing Days

  • April 18, May 16, June 6 & 7
  • St. Joseph County Parks
  • 10am to 8:30pm
  • Gate fee in effect

These days only, Indiana residents may fish without a state fishing license in Indiana waters. Free Fishing Days were created by the Indiana General Assembly in 1995 and are designated each year by the Department of Natural Resources to promote recreational angling.


Archery Lessons

  • When: Wednesdays, June 24, July 29 and August 26
  • Site: St. Patrick’s County Park: Brown Barn
  • Time: 6 to 8pm
  • Fee: $10/person per session
  • Ages 12 & up, accompanied by adult

Join a local archery instructor for archery lessons. Get hands-on experience with all the equipment and enjoy a personalized shooting lesson. Registration and payment are required two days before program date.

   

Group Canoe Rental
