Tapping Day

A volunteer adult and youth tap a maple tree

The sap will soon be running and it's time to tap! Volunteers are needed to get the Bendix Woods Sugar Bush ready for making maple syrup! Experienced sugar-makers will take you out into the woods and show you how to tap maple trees and hang sap tubes to collect sap. This activity is outdoors so be sure to dress for the weather.

Where: Bendix Woods County Park: Sauk Trail Shelter

Date: Saturday, February 20, 2021

Time: 10am to 12:30pm

Fee: FREE

Advanced registration is required by February 16 by calling Bendix Woods County Park at (574) 654-3155.

Would you like to purchase some Bendix Woods County Park Pure Maple Syrup? Syrup can be purchased at the Nature Center at Bendix Woods County Park or at the Administrative Offices at St. Patrick's County Park. Call Bendix  Woods County Park at (574) 654-3155 or St. Patrick's County Park at (574) 277-4828 to make arrangements to purchase and pick-up your syrup. Pints = $10 and 1/2 pints = $6.
